Asbestos Disease Support Services
The Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS) is a reputable non-profit organisation committed to providing vital support and resources to those impacted by asbestos-related diseases and Silicosis
We are proud to collaborate closely with the Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS), fostering more than a decade-long partnership dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by asbestos-related diseases and Silicosis across Queensland (QLD) and the Northern Territory (NT).
Our Partnership with ADSS
Through our partnership, ADSS members have access to comprehensive occupational therapy and dietetic assessments. These assessments are crucial in identifying individual’s immediate support and environmental adjustment needs and planning for the future.
Based on your individual circumstances, our team works collaboratively with ADSS staff including nursing and social worker to tailor support to maximise your independence at home.

At DOTS Allied Health, our mission is to empower individuals affected by asbestos-related diseases to maintain independence and quality of life in their own homes for as long as possible. We understand the unique challenges posed by these conditions and are dedicated to providing personalised care and support to meet your needs.
Occupational Therapy Assessments
Our comprehensive occupational therapy assessments are designed to provide a thorough evaluation of your medical history, functional capacity, and support network. These assessments include:
- A detailed two-hour initial assessment session.
- Home assessments to evaluate environmental needs and safety.
- Falls risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
- Education on energy conservation strategies tailored to manage fatigue associated with lung conditions.
We recognise that managing low energy levels can significantly impact daily functioning. Our occupational therapists provide practical training on energy conservation techniques, empowering you to optimise your energy use and engage in meaningful activities that matter to you.
